Surrounded by numerous food and beverage professionals including his parents, throughout his childhood Michael had a running start in the industry. It was then that his fascination with food began. Since the conception of Beyond Events, Michael has been the driving force in successful expansion of the division's services. He has led the division to unprecedented growth in both the corporate and social markets, with his experience and expertise in strategic planning and menu development. Michael strives to constantly please all clients whether large or small.

A passion for food and a long-standing family tradition influenced Executive Chef Anthony Scheri to pursue a career as a professional Chef. Interested in all aspects of the culinary art, Anthony has seen his cuisine develop throughout the years, traveling around the world learning about different cultures and their cuisine. "It is essential, in this fast-paced environment, to be surrounded by a professional, dedicated team," believes Chef Anthony "I am fortunate here to work with people who share a genuine love for food." If people only wanted to know a recipe, they could buy a book. Our clients love Anthony because of his engaging personality, his recipes fit the American lifestyle – and most importantly, Anthony is someone they can relate to.
When Tony isn't in the kitchen, you can find him walking around the office poking fun at his co-workers!
It's been quite the journey for Cesar Reyes. The youngest of 15 children in Mexico, his father hoped he would take over the family butcher shop. Reyes decided to come to America instead and go to school to be an engineer. But his love for food was too strong to ignore, and starting in 1989 he continuously worked his way up the ranks of a few well known restaurants in Chicago. Cesar has finally found his home at Beyond Events where he is truly able to be himself as not only a chef, but as a person.
Not only is Cesar always coming up with new menus for Beyond Events, his 4 children are vegan and gluten free, challenging his culinary creativity each night for dinner!
Known throughout the industry for his expertise in event management and operations, Rob makes sure your special occasion runs smoothly. From set-up to strike, he keeps a cool head and a steady hand whether the guest list is 50 or 5,000. With experience in tents, rentals, novelties, amusements, and staffing, Rob brings to BEYOND EVENTS what most catering companies lack – a true understanding of event operations and what it takes to flawlessly orchestrate deliveries, staff, product, and placement. Working closely with the BEYOND EVENTS sales team, Rob understands and executes the specific desires of each client to ensure that the event runs as proposed.
Rob is a father of 5 at home and 5 more in the office!
Having grown up in the restaurant industry, a career in Catering came naturally to Melissa. Her love for events began around the age of 8 when she would visit her mom at work and get lost in the awe of extravagant wedding receptions. Since graduating from Kendall College with a Bachelors in Hospitality Management and Event Planning, she has worked in a variety of positions for leaders in the catering industry, acquiring a working knowledge of every aspect of event planning process. She prides herself on her attention to detail and is passionate in relation to food quality and presentation, and has a love for on-site logistics.
In her free time, you'll find Melissa creating new recipes, traveling, or playing endless games of fetch with her dog!
Kelly is a graduate of DePaul University with a Bachelor's degree in Communications with focus on public relations and advertising. The hospitality industry has always been her calling and with 20 years' experience, she finally found her happy home with Beyond Events in early 2017. Her history is filled with a love for the restaurant industry, with years of bar management experience she was introduced to event planning and instantly fell in love. She emceed bar trivia nights and other holiday events/competitions, sent out company press releases for events and even went out on her own, freelance bartending for high-end corporate and private events throughout the city.
In her spare time she loves trying new restaurants all over Chicago and is very close to adding another rescued pooch to her dog pack of two!
Having worked in Hospitality since the age of 16, Courtenay is what we like to call a lifer! Courtenay graduated from Roosevelt University with a bachelors in Hospitality & Tourism Management and a certificate in Event Planning. She eats, drinks and breathes the event industry. Courtenay's biggest joy is making an event go from an ambitious thought to an incredible reality and seeing the face on her clients face when their dreams come true!
When Courtenay isn't putting in 60 hour weeks, she loves to go hiking and camping and even finds time to brew beer and make her own wine!
With over 25 years of experience and a passion that does not quit, Jill could probably run this place herself! Her love for working one on one with clients and using her creativity and vast knowledge to create memorable events is what really energizes her. Jill is new to the Beyond Events team but loves the office culture already and fits right in with the easy-going, "don't take yourself so seriously" vibe (even though the other girls like to tease her!).
Jill loves to laugh, play games, and go fishing. Also, don't mention anything bad about the Blackhawks around her!
Jessiy started her career after graduating at the top of her class with an Associate of Culinary Arts degree. Since her graduation she has worked for many leaders in the food and beverage industry before landing her dream job here at Beyond Events. Jessiy is in charge of coordinating all of our summer events, from ice cream socials to grilled on-site picnics. Jessiy is the GO-TO person in our office when everything else has been tried and we're still looking for a solution, Jessiy always seems to come up with the most jaw dropping ideas for problems that have been stumping most of the rest of the team for weeks. Efficiency is her middle name!
When Jessiy is not pumping out event proposals left and right, she is probably asking someone in the office what they are getting her for her birthday (even if it's still 9 months away!).
With over a decade of performance excellence in event operations and customer relations, Alfonso's expertise with large and small events such as weddings, corporate events and holiday parties are unparalleled in the industry.
Alfonso started his career with us in our operations department and after learning and enjoying every aspect of the business he became our Senior Event Manager and our Event Staffing Coordinator. His vast experience in fine dining and international golf, equestrian and tennis events all contribute to Alfonso's event clients receiving the highest quality of service and creative personalization to ensure their event is successful from beginning to end.
Alfonso is no stranger to hard work and staying focused, as he often says, "the devil is in the details".
